President Young called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

A welcome was extended to new trustee, Carol Champ, and youth liaison, Cynthia Stamelos. Board members introduced themselves to the newcomers.

There were no changes or corrections to the minutes of the June 8 meeting. The minutes were approved as mailed.

Administrative Librarian's Report:

Maintenance: A compressor failed on one of our two air conditioning units and it was replaced.

The masonry tuckpointing work has been completed.

Services: The summer reading program is progressing nicely. Program attendance is down, but Croya and the Recreation Center have also reported a drop in attendance. One reason may be that this was the first year that public schools required all information be sent to them in electronic format. Next year we may send a special mailer. Also, this year programs were limited to 130 attendees and a free ticket was required to enter. Tickets were made available beginning at 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. programs. One benefit of lower attendance is that the shows are easier to see and hear.

Miscellaneous: May statistics were distributed.

There were 127 Wikipedia hits for the library in April and 550 hits for our Facebook page. We have 104 followers on Facebook and 69 followers on Twitter. We use both of these services mainly for promoting children’s programs and materials.
