Professor Book Talk: Music as Performance

Join LIT and the Theater Department as we co-host a book talk by Associate Professor Richard Pettengill, who will discuss his new publication Taking it to the Bridge: Music as Performance (University of Michigan Press, 2013). This collection of essays, co-edited with Nicholas Cook (University of Cambridge), explores musical culture and the role of performance in various genres, geographies, and formats. In addition to co-editing, Richard contributed the chapter “Performing Collective Improvisation: The Grateful Dead’s ‘Dark Star.’”   At the Donnelly and Lee Library, Room 002 at 4:00 pm.
