MINUTES

Present: President Duncan; Trustees Barnett, Garrett, Hull, Miserendino, Plandowski, Thornburgh, and Young; Youth Liaison, Stefanie Petropoulos; Administrative Librarian Grabbe; and Administrative Assistant Grasmick.

Absent: Trustee Pierson.

President Duncan called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

There were no changes or corrections to the minutes of the June 12 meeting. The minutes were approved as mailed.

President Duncan introduced new trustee Roger Hull. The trustees welcomed Mr. Hull and introduced themselves.

Administrative Librarian's Report:

Maintenance: The window caulking and painting and the tuck-pointing work have been completed.

Services: Both summer reading programs are doing well—numbers are higher than last year.

The performer programs are very popular. We are posting performance photos on our web site.

Miscellaneous: The second draft of the FY07 financial was distributed. The final draft will be available once we receive the audit from the City.

The May YTD was distributed.

Trustee Barnett asked for a description of the reserve entry. Mrs. Grabbe explained that we have funds reserved for capital improvements.

Committee Reports:

Services: No report.

Long Range Planning: No report.

Finance: No report.

NSLS: Several trustee training courses are being offered in July and August. Mrs. Grabbe will register any interested trustees—just let her know which course you wish to attend. Trustee Plandowski circulated a list of upcoming courses. All classes are being held at NSLS headquarters in Wheeling.

Friends: The children’s book sale made $5,709.00 and cost $32.00 to operate. The Friends are very pleased. They plan on continuing the sale next year and are already working on how they can make it even better.

A planning committee has been appointed to take a look at the book storage issue. A meeting is set for July 13 th.

Old Business: The second Preservation Foundation award has been hung in the entryway.

New Business: The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 14, 2007.

Opportunity for the public to address the Board: no one addressed the Board.

Trustee Young moved and Trustee Thornburgh seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
