LAKE FOREST LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MEETING
Tuesday, October 9, 2007

MINUTES

Present: President Duncan; Trustees Garrett, Hull, Miserendino, Plandowski, Thornburgh, and Young; Administrative Librarian Grabbe; and Administrative Assistant Grasmick.

Absent: Trustees Barnett and Pierson; Youth Liaison, Stefanie Petropoulos.

President Duncan called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m.

There were no changes or corrections to the minutes of the September 11 meeting. The minutes were approved as mailed.

Administrative Librarian's Report:

Equipment: A wireless access point has been installed on the upper level. Staff will now be able to use a laptop for on-the-spot inventory checks and weeding.

Personnel: Carol Pieczonka has left her position at the adult circulation desk. Mary Gabanski has been hired as her replacement.

Services: Fall storytimes and book discussions have begun.

Committee Reports:

Services: No report.

Long Range Plan: No report.

Finance: The committee met prior to tonight’s board meeting to discuss the FY09 levy.

The committee recommends a levy increase of 3.5%.

Trustee Garrett moved to approve a levy increase of 3.5%. Trustee Plandowski seconded. Motion carried.
