					LAKE FOREST LIBRARY SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING Lake Forest Library Board of Trustees Services Committee Meeting 6:30 pm September 11, 2007, Minutes Present: Ruth Plandowski, Chair; Roger Hull, Bob Thornburg, Trustees; Winifred Duncan, President; Kaye Grabbe, Administrative Librarian The Committee recommended signage by the Medica sculpture to encourage ‘look’ and ‘enjoy’ but discourage ‘touch’ and ‘climb’. The Committee recommended lighting the Medica sculpture; Mrs. Grabbe will apply to the appropriate City Commission for approval and will add the cost of lighting to the Friends Wish List. The Committee discussed the Library’s participation in the City’s emergency alert system, “Code Red” for informational purposes. Mrs. Grabbe provided 4 articles for the Committee about gaming in libraries and social networking sites. Staff will continue to monitor developments and to discussion with CROYA ways to work together to provide opportunities for youth for gaming and participation in EYE 4U, a highly regulated teen version of Second Life. The signage and lighting of the Medica sculpture will be recommended for Library Board of Trustees approval at the September 11, 2007 regular Board meeting.
