Lake Forest Squash Fall Newsletter 2010
Season Kick-Off
Join us on Saturday, September 11 for our season opening Squash Fest from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Presentations will run on the half hour to help you get your game in gear with topics to include: how to straighten your drive; solo and partner drilling; equipment tune up; fitness and stretching for squash; stringing basics; rules clinic; tournament tactics and collegiate recruiting update. An exhibition will start at noon and healthful snacks will be served. Please join us!
Adult Lessons
Our popular Adult Group Lessons will start on Monday, September 13 and run through December 11. New and returning adult players will meet at 7:00 pm to fine tune one shot during the first half hour with conditioned games and round robin play to follow. A great way to meet new players and learn more about the game.
Junior Program Options
Several options are available for junior players to learn and improve their game. Sunday afternoon junior classes begin September 13 and follow a skill level format. After school programs are age-based with middle and grade school players meeting on Tuesday and Thursdays. The Lake Forest Squash High School team trains on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and includes drilling, skills building, tournament and school competition. Both classes begin on the week of September 13 and run through winter break.
Fall League
Experienced players should consider registering for league play. We need a minimum of six to eight interested players to begin a round robin format. One match played per week scheduled at a mutually agreed upon time between players. Registration during the Squash Fest is encouraged.
Pre-season Warm Up Tournament
Our preseason warm up tournament will be held Saturday, September 18. This done-in-a-day event will run until we have all matches played. Both junior and adult divisions are offered. Please contact Kim at kstunney@yahoo.com for division registrations questions.
