2005 Lake Forest Squash US Men’s Results
Lake Forest Squash Hosts First Ever US Men’s Team Selection Event Preston Quick won the first ever pro men’s tour event held in Lake Forest last weekend hosted by Lake Forest Squash, the nation’s only public/municipal squash program. Quick beat runner-up Michael Puertas 3-1 with Richard Chin beating Dylan Patterson 3-0 to take third place honors. Chicago local pros Beau River, Connor O’Malley and Sean Ballard finished fifth, eighth and tenth respectively. The pro results were used to select the four US Men’s Team members who will represent the United States at the Men’s World Team event staged in Islamabad, Pakistan this December. Eight amateur divisions were contested as well last weekend. Tecnifibre provided racquets, backpacks and strings to amateur winners and finalists. Both pros and amateurs enjoyed a Saturday night beach party at Lake Forest beach with music by Lake Forest Squash High School team member Will Kyriazis. The US pros enjoyed their suburban setting and on Friday were invited to Bloomingdale’s, Old Orchard in Skokie for a fashion ‘makeover’. Three Bloomingdale’s stylists outfitted them in the latest fall fashions and photographer Marian Krause took these very GQ photos which the British website The Squash Site picked up on: http://www.squashsite.co.uk/us_team_selection.htm Lake Forest Squash US Men’s Team Pro Results: 1st place Preston Quick Lake Forest Squash US Men’s Team Amateur Results: Division Winner Finalist Men’s 5.5 David Kay Scott Milligan Men’s 4.5 Nick Burlew Chad Faragher Women’s Leslie Cameron Jackie Moss BU-19 George Kacergis Richard Riggs BU-17 Luke Foster Simon Carr BU-15 William Kacergis Tom Foorman BU-13 Will Wardrop Jack Herold GU-13 Alden Drake Emma Uible
