Placing Holds on "On Shelf" items
Important: If an item is available on our shelves at Lake Forest, for faster service please call 847.234.0636 to place a hold.
Placing a hold online in the catalog does not mean your hold is immediately available for pickup at the Library.
For items that are not currently on our shelves, or that are coming from other libraries, we will let you know when the item is available for pickup.
To Place an Item on Hold, You Can Either:
Call us at 847.810.4610 and we'll place a hold on it for you
Place the item on hold yourself by visiting My Account (directions follow)
Directions for placing holds online through My Account
Browse to the item in the Catalog
Click the "Place Hold" button
Enter your barcode number and password
(If you haven't changed your password, the default password is patron)
Select your Pickup Library and click the "Place Hold(s)" button
A window will appear, indicating that your hold was successfully placed. If you have any issues, please call us at 847.810.4610.
