Program Description

Details

For most of its history, Chicago produced one-third of the nation's candy including such superstars as Snickers, Milky Way, Wrigley's gum, Cracker Jack, Butterfinger, Tootsie Rolls, and Frango Mints. Learn what made Chicago an ideal location for candymakers, how immigrants to the Windy City played a critical role in confectionery history, and the unexpected origins of candy names like Baby Ruth and Milk Duds. We'll wrap up (haha) with a fun candy quiz. This delicious event is sure to induce cravings ... We suggest you have a bowl of sweet treats at the ready when you join us on Zoom!
