See the design and development of a Chicago home through the eyes of an architect! Alison Von Glinow—architect, former Lake Forest resident, and co-founder and principal of Kwong Von Glinow Design Office—shares the behind-the-scenes work of bringing a new home to life using the conceptual framework "Borrowing the Familiar," an idea her office is exploring as a means to evoke the history of Chicago architecture and design structures that everyone can appreciate.

Alison Von Glinow is an Illinois and New York registered architect, graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and Fellow of New York's Urban Design Forum. Kwong Von Glinow Design Office works on residential projects that address contemporary conditions of living. The office was awarded the 2018 Architectural League Prize of New York for Young Architects.
