Food, in one form or another, comprises 20–25% of the waste stream currently in local landfills. Green Minds of LF/LB introduces the environmental issues created by food waste in Lake County and shares solutions that turn that waste into a resource. Hear the hurdles and the success stories that Pauline Droege uncovered in interviews with local schools, restaurants, grocery stores, and residents in efforts to keep food out of the trash and put it to good use. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and discussion about what we all can do at home, work, and school.
