Program Description

Discuss with us the award-winning Front Desk by Kelly Yang, based on the author's own experiences of emigrating from China in the 1970s. Ten-year-old Mia Tang's parents take a job managing a rundown motel. Imagine what life was like for her working the front desk and making friends with the motel residents, all while trying to cope with fitting in at her school. Copies of the book are available to check out in the Children's Library.

This program is part of Summer Reading Colors Your World.
