Fines and Fee Schedule
BOOKS, OTHER MATERIALS & AV (other than Video Games, DVDs and CD ROMs) – 10 cents per day
VIDEO GAMES, DVDs and CD-ROMs - $1 per day
ILL's - $1 per day
MAXIMUM VIDEO GAME, DVD FINES: $14 maximum fine if returned late
ILL'S: (Materials borrowed from other libraries): fees or special handling costs charged by the lending library are passed along to the patron.
LOST CARDS: $2
DAMAGED MATERIALS: materials which cannot be repaired; missing case; lost material procedure is in effect
LOST OR DAMAGED CD-ROM: cost of the CD-ROM package
LOST OR DAMAGED CD, DVD, VIDEO GAME: If 1 item from multi part set, cost will be based on availability of replacement parts. Request cost from Tech. Serv. Minimum charge: $5

LOST MAGAZINE: $5 per issue
LOST UNCATALOGED PAPERBACKS: Price in computer
LOST YA FICTION PAPERBACKS & JUVENILE FICTION PAPERBACKS: Price in computer
DELINQUENT PATRONS: Patrons become delinquent after incurring fines of $10 or owing $10 or more for lost materials. Borrowing privileges may be lost until fine is paid.
FAMILY FINES: A family whose fines exceed $20 shall be refused library borrowing privileges until the fine is paid. Family members over 18 years of age are responsible for their own fines.
NON-RESIDENT FEE CARD: family card $619.13 (FY20) per year.

Photocopying of items from Community Cornerstones database and non-circulating books (locked cases): $1.00 per sheet plus mailing charges, $5.00 minimum
Photocopying of obituariess, birth announcements, weddings, etc. from Lake Forester

- no date supplied: if searching is extensive, up to ½ hour search cost is $50.00

Fines for adult items shall be adjusted at the discretion of the Administrative Librarian, subject to approval of the Board. The maximum fine shall be the cost of the item.
Fines for juvenile items shall be adjusted at the discretion of the Administrative Librarian, subject to approval of the Board. The maximum fine shall be the cost of the item.
Fines for overdue audio visual items will be adjusted by the Administrative Librarian, subject to approval of the Board. The maximum fine shall be the cost of the item.
A family whose fines exceed a maximum amount shall be refused the privileges of the Library until such time as the fine has been paid. Adult children over 18 years of age will be responsible for their fines and fees. The amount of this maximum shall be adjusted by the Administrative Librarian, subject to the approval of the Board.
Patrons incurring fines of a set dollar amount will be set delinquent as will patrons who owe more than that amount for lost materials. This dollar amount will be adjusted by the Administrative Librarian, subject to approval of the Board.
Once Lake Forest Library is officially notified by another Library System member that a Lake Forest resident is delinquent there, no service will be available at Lake Forest Library until such delinquency is cleared.
