Raising young people can seem lonely at times, but it doesn't have to be. Our Children's Library is well known and well loved by the community, and that's thanks to our amazing Children's Librarians. They are at your service for everything that will help inspire the bookworms-in-training under your care.
Our Librarians can:
We love to pull books on specific topics that are sure to delight and inform your young ones. Do you need Guided Reading books? No problem! Is your child reading at a Lexile Level of 1000? We have the list for you!
Create personalized reading lists
Looking for books that are great for 7th graders? Do you have a toddler who can't get enough dinosaurs, fire trucks, dolls, ponies, or superheroes? Do you want to wow them with Caldecott or Newbery Medal winners? We can make a list just for you.
Provide resources to help with homework
By far our favorite electronic resource is Tutor.com, which you can use for free as a Lake Forest Library card holder. Tutor.com enables your family to work directly with a virtual, live tutor. It's just as good as being tutored in person, but more convenient.
Need to draw a picture of a volcano or write a book report on Island of the Blue Dolphins? Our librarians can also pull books and materials to help you research specific topics or complete class assignments.
Answer your questions and offer reading advice

Get you a certain book or movie, even if we don't have it!
We can get materials from other libraries in the area and even across the country, so there is almost nothing we can't get for you! If you'd like to suggest we purchase something for our collection, let us know by completing our Suggest a purchase form.
