Program Description

Details

Join Jennifer Turner of Green Minds Lake Forest/Lake Bluff and a Lake Forest Library librarian in a lively discussion of Saving Us by Dr. Katharine Hayhoe. According to the Pew Research Center, 60% of Americans view climate change as a major threat to the well-being of the United States, but the reality of a rapidly changing climate can be overwhelming to think about, let alone act upon meaningfully. In her most recent book, Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing, Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, makes the case that the single most important thing we can do about climate change is talk about it—with friends, family, neighbors, colleagues—and focus on the values we have in common.
