Join us for an evening with Erika L. Sánchez, Chicagoan and award-winning author as she discusses her writings and upcoming memoir Crying in the Bathroom.

Erika L. Sánchez is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. A poet, novelist, and essayist, her debut poetry collection, Lessons on Expulsion, was a finalist for the PEN America Open Book Award. Her debut young adult novel, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, is a New York Times Bestseller and a National Book Awards finalist. Erika's poems have appeared in many literary journals, including Poets.org, Vinyl Poetry, Guernica, diode, Boston Review, ESPN.com, the Paris Review, Gulf Coast, POETRY Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Yorker.
