Movie Overview

A real-life portrayal of Tonya Harding, an Olympic figure skater who rose to fame not only for her prowess on the ice but for her part in disabling a competitor in order to remove her from the competition. The story follows Tonya's rise to stardom in the competitive figure skating world as she consistently rose to the high ranks of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, followed by her rapid decline after an attack on a fellow skater, Nancy Kerrigan. Because she was found guilty of trying to help Kerrigan's attackers avoid being prosecuted for their crimes, Harding was eventually banned for life from competitive figure skating.
