Borrowing Items From Across the Consortium and Around the Country

Did you know that you’re not limited to borrowing from only Lake Forest Library collections?

Lake Forest Library is part of a 28‑member consortium that shares materials between libraries. When you search our catalog, you can set the "Limit by" filter to "Lake Forest Materials" or broaden your search by selecting "All Member Libraries."

You can also use your Lake Forest Library card if you visit any of the other libraries in the consortium. For a list of member libraries, go to lakeforestlibrary.org/holds. Most libraries will require you to register your card with them if it is your first time visiting.

If no libraries in our consortium have the item you are looking for, we can request materials for you from libraries across the country. For these interlibrary loans, please note that any borrowing fees required by the lending library are passed on to you as the borrower. But we will always alert you first so that you can decide if you would still like to borrow the item.

Whenever you need help finding an item, or if you would like to suggest an item for Lake Forest Library to consider purchasing, please: call us at 847.234.0636, email us at reference@lakeforestlibrary.org, or complete the form at lakeforestlibrary.org/find.
