Kathy's Korner: Sequels and Series Update for April

STELLA DIAZ 5: LEAPS TO THE FUTURE by Angela Dominguez.  For readers who like to read about school adventures of characters like Ramona Quimby, Junie B. Jones and other feisty grade school girls.  Elementary Grades. 

DETECTIVE GORDON 5:  A CASE WITH A BANG by Ulf Nilsson.  Another case to solve for Detective Gordon and Chief Detective Buffy.  Gentle animal adventure with colored illustrations throughout.  Elementary Grades 

HARRIET SPIES by Elana K. Arnold.  A follow-up to Just Harriet with an affectionate nod to Harriet the Spy as this Harriet solves the mystery of the missing binoculars from her grandmother’s vacation B&B. Occasional black and white full-page illustrations.  Elementary Grades. 

WARRIORS: A STARLESS CLAN 3: SHADOW by Erin Hunter.  The latest installment for Warriors fans as alliances shift in the never-ending conflict between clans.  Middle Grades. 

LAND OF DRAGONS 2: Secret of the Storm by Beth McMullen.    When 12-year-old Cassie found a small, abandoned kitten by a dumpster, she never dreamed  that  Albert would turn out to be a dragon in disguise.  Now she must rescue him from the very place she returned him to.  Middle Grades. 

PAGES AND CO. 5: THE TREEHOUSE LIBRARY by Anna James.  Story lovers will appreciate this series about book lovers Milo and Alessia, who join forces to keep the Quip (locomotive) running on imagination.  Full of encounters with book characters good and bad.  Middle Grades. 

KINGDOM KEEPERS: INHERITANCE 1: THE SHIMMER by Ridley Pearson.  Another subseries about the magical world of Disney and Epcot.  Beginning with the original series of the Kingdom Keepers, the focus is now on the children of the Keepers.  Middle Grades and lovers of all things Disney. 

THE CANDY SHOP WAR 3: CARNIVAL QUEST by Brandon Mull.  The finale in a trilogy about the Blue Falcons, a secret kid’s club that fights a family of villainous magicians with an arsenal of magic candy.  Middle Grades. 

RANGER’S APPRENTICE: BROTHERBAND 8: RETURN OF THE TEMUJAI by John Flanagan. The Temujai--ruthless warriors from the Eastern Steppes--have never given up on their ambition to claim Skandia for their own... and now they're on the move. Hal and his crew will have to brave the treacherous icy river and rapids to stop them, no matter the cost. Middle Grades
