Holiday Book Bazaar

Stop by the Library Foyer November 27 through December 23 to browse an assortment of holiday books selected to get you in the spirit of the season and to give as gifts. Prices are marked at the top of the first white page of each book. Payment is cash on the honor system in the collection box. Thank you for your support!

Fall Book Sale

The 47th Annual Book Sale exceeded expectations! We are grateful to the community for its support, from donating books and volunteering throughout the year, to the more than 150 volunteers and 3,000 shoppers the week of the sale. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Save the date for the 48th Annual Book Sale: September 12–15, 2024.

Book Donations

During Library hours, the Friends accept gently used donations in the bins on the back dock of the Library, including:

  • Fiction and nonfiction books
  • Puzzles and board games
  • DVDs and Music CDs

We cannot accept damaged or soiled items, encyclopedias, National Geographics, Reader’s Digests, Time Life, magazines, cassettes, VHS tapes, or business/medical/computer/law books more than 5 years old. Thank you for your donations!

Scholarships

Each spring, the Friends award $2,000 scholarships to up to three graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a passion for reading. Students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood are eligible to apply. The application will be available in January at lakeforestlibrary.org/friends.
