Observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month at Lake Forest Library

September 27, 2018 – LAKE FOREST Ill – JAttend a discussion at Lake Forest Library on Tuesday, October 16, at 7:00 pm on issues of domestic violence, using the book and HBO show Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. The discussion will be moderated by A Safe Place, Lake County's source for services addressing domestic violence.

Attendees are welcome to come even if they have not read the book or seen the TV show and would like to simply discuss the issues surrounding domestic violence.

Themes of domestic violence run throughout Big Little Lies, which follows three moms, Madeline, Celeste, and Jane. Madeline is struggling with her defiant teenage daughter. Perfect-looking Celeste is in a toxic marriage. Jane is a young mom and new to town with her own mysterious past. When Jane's son Ziggy is accused of choking a girl in his class, the parents choose sides. By the end of the school year, someone will end up dead.

Pick up your copy of the Big Little Lies book or DVD from the Domestic Awareness display next to the Lake Forest Library Circulation Desk. Register or learn more about this and other events at www.lakeforestlibrary.org/events.
